Belonging Matters Film
The Voices of Youths was a multi-year research project funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. The goal of this project, led by investigators at the University of Toronto and McMaster University, was to learn from youths with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) about their experiences of friendship, community, and quality of life. This film describes the inclusive research process and with the support of the team’s three project consultants, explores the projects findings: a Framework of Belonging which can be used to enhance policy and programs that affect the lives of youth with IDD and their families.
